Trees and Ponds


I am making 3 starting zones. The first one is called Trees and Ponds; and today I make the tile maps for it. There are some additional sprites I need to make (aside from the player) for buildings and vehicles. The vehicles are just for the intro + tutorial, so don't get too excited. I'm not 100% happy with this art direction, but I'm considering this a first-pass to get the game to launch, with additional passes if there's time and interest.

What's super interesting, for me, is that this is multiple tile maps overlaid; with 1 hidden tile map to determine collisions for the navigation component. That same collision "layer" is going to be used to determine whether or not the player can till a block; as well as where the debit can respawn.
